What tests are done before the grow lights are shipped?

Testing the LPU grow light before shipment is a key step to ensure product quality and performance. The following are common testing processes and contents to ensure that the lamps meet standards and meet customer needs:

  1. Electrical performance test

▲ Voltage and current test: Check the operating current of the lamp at the rated voltage to ensure that it meets the design specifications.

▲ Power test: Verify whether the actual power of the lamp is consistent with the nominal power.

▲ Power factor test: Ensure that the power factor of the lamp meets the energy efficiency standard (usually required to be >0.9).

▲ Start-up time test: Test the time from turning on to full brightness of the lamp to ensure fast startup.

2. Optical performance test

▲ Spectrum test: Use a spectrometer to detect the spectrum emitted by the lamp to ensure that the ratio of red light (660nm) and blue light (450nm) is suitable for plant growth.

▲ Luminous flux test: Measure the total light output of the lamp to ensure that the brightness meets the design requirements.

▲ Light uniformity test: Check whether the light distribution within the illumination range of the lamp is uniform to avoid dark areas or overly bright areas.

▲ PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) Test: Measure the PPFD value of the lamp at a specific distance to ensure that it meets the photosynthesis needs of plants.

3. Thermal Management Test

▲ Temperature Rise Test: Run the lamp to a stable state, measure the temperature of the housing and key components, ensure good heat dissipation performance and avoid overheating.

▲ Heat Distribution Test: Use a thermal imager to check the heat distribution of the lamp to ensure that there is no local overheating.

4. Durability Test

▲ Aging Test: Run the lamp continuously for hundreds of hours to simulate long-term use and check light decay, color temperature changes and stability.

▲ Switch Cycle Test: Repeatedly switch the lamp on and off to test its durability and stability.

▲ Environmental Adaptability Test: Test the performance of the lamp in extreme environments such as high and low temperatures and humidity to ensure that it can adapt to different planting environments.

5. Safety Performance Test

▲ Insulation Resistance Test: Check the insulation performance of the lamp to ensure that it meets safety standards.

▲ Voltage Withstand Test: Perform high voltage tests on the lamp to ensure that it can withstand fluctuations in the rated voltage.

▲ Waterproof and dustproof test: Test according to IP rating (such as IP65) to ensure that the lamp is suitable for humid or dusty environments.

6. Appearance and structural inspection

▲ Appearance inspection: Check whether the lamp housing has scratches, deformation or other defects.

▲ Structural stability test: Ensure that the lamp's mounting bracket, screws and other components are firm and reliable.

▲ Label and packaging inspection: Confirm that the product label (such as power, voltage, model) is clear and accurate, and the packaging is intact.

7. Functional test

▲ Dimming function test (if supported): Check whether the dimming function is smooth and stable.

▲ Intelligent control test (if supported): Test the compatibility of the lamp with the intelligent control system (such as APP, timer).

8. Final inspection

▲ Full inspection or random inspection: According to the order requirements, each lamp is fully inspected, or randomly inspected in proportion.

▲ Customer special requirements test: If the customer has special requirements (such as specific spectrum or power), additional testing and records are required.

Test report

After each batch of lamps is tested, a detailed test report must be generated, including:

▲ Test items

▲ Test results

▲ Pass/fail judgment

▲ Test time and personnel

Through a strict testing process, we can ensure that LPU grow lights meet high quality standards before shipment, provide customers with reliable products, and reduce after-sales problems.
